CASE STUDIES

How we've helped Asset Managers

City Business Meeting

PEOPLE MOVES

Retaining assets

An established portfolio manager unexpectedly announced their intention to leave and join a competitor, taking members of their team with them. The fund’s performance was very strong and, while the team of analysts supported the PM well, none were sufficiently senior to take the lead straight away.

This created the need to both communicate with client quickly on the immediate plans to manage the strategy, but also articulate a long-term plan of how their assets would be managed and how performance would be maintained.

SUSTAINABILITY

Standing out

One asset manager wanted to both differentiate itself from the market for its sustainable expertise and explain the impact of sustainable regulation on client portfolios.

We helped them create a compelling pipeline of engaging content for use across analogue and digital channels that showed their leadership in this competitive space. And, when it came to regulations such as SDR and SFDR, we helped explain how regulation affects portfolios clearly and concisely, creating direct-to-client messages and explainers for sales teams which helped them understand the topic in detail.

PORTFOLIO HOLDINGS

Explaining stock selection

PMs select stocks from their investment universe to build portfolios. But this can create the need to explain specific choices to investors, and how these stocks align with the investment goals of the fund and rules governing it. For example, an energy company may be selected as “best in class” within a sustainability themed fund, but clients may question why an oil producer is in a “green” portfolio.

We’re here to explain fund holdings, so that investors understand not just why a stock has been selected for a portfolio, but how it adds financial and non-financial value to a portfolio.

POLICY AND PROCEDURES

Improving your approach to communications

The best way to manage problems is by having effective policies and procedures in place.

We can help you design a realistic and effective communications strategy that helps you connect with your clients quickly and efficiently when you need it most.

We start with establishing your tone of voice and approach to communications: designing both how you want your clients to see and hear you and who your key internal stakeholders are for approvals. Then, we work with you to create your messaging on your business and how you’re different to the market. Finally, we create templates and playbooks that help you both improve your day-to-day communications and react quickly in times of stress.
